Quick Summary: MOHRE enquiry services

  • What it is: free online services from the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) that let workers and employers check a labour contract, work permit, transaction status, company data and complaints.
  • Where: the MOHRE enquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae, the MOHRE app, or by phone.
  • Most common check: your job offer / labour contract, using your transaction number and passport or your Emirates ID.
  • Call centre: 600 590 000, open 24/7 (the same number works on WhatsApp – type “hi” to start).
  • Cost: checking your status and filing a labour complaint are free.
  • Important: MOHRE handles private-sector labour. Visas and residency are handled by ICP (federal) and GDRFA (Dubai) – not MOHRE.

The short version: “MOHRE enquiry” is how you check your own work details with the Ministry – your contract before you sign it, your work permit, or where your application has reached. Almost all of it is free and online at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae or on the MOHRE app, and if you get stuck you can call 600 590 000 any time.

Before you sign a job offer, travel for a new role, or chase a delayed application, you can check the facts yourself. MOHRE’s enquiry services let any worker or employer look up a labour contract, a work permit, the status of a transaction, or a company’s registration – without visiting an office. The trouble is that the services are spread across several portals with technical names, so most people are not sure which one to use.

This guide brings them together in plain English: what you can check, exactly what details you need, which channel is fastest, and how the free labour-complaint process works. It has been reviewed by Jashvantkumar Prajapati, who has spent over two decades handling UAE labour and establishment matters. Note that HenryClub is an independent advisory – we are not MOHRE, and the links below take you to the Ministry’s own official portals.

The single most useful habit I teach new arrivals is to check the MOHRE offer inquiry before they sign anything. The contract MOHRE holds is the one that counts – if the salary or job title there does not match what you were promised, fix it now, not after you land.

How to check your labour contract or job offer

This is the enquiry most people need, and the most important. Do it before you sign or travel.

1

Open the MOHRE Offer Inquiry

Go to receipts.mohre.gov.ae/OfferInquiry (or open the MOHRE app and choose the offer inquiry).

2

Pick the offer type

Select your case: job offer, work permit with job offer, work-permit renewal, or work permit without job offer.

3

Enter your details

Search either by transaction number + passport number + nationality, or by your Emirates ID data + nationality.

4

Review the terms

Check the job title, salary and contract duration shown by MOHRE.

5

Confirm before you commit

Make sure the MOHRE record matches what you were promised. If it does not, raise it with the employer before signing or arriving.

Filing a labour complaint

If your employer breaches your rights – unpaid wages, wrongful dismissal – you can file a labour complaint with MOHRE for free, through the website, the app or the 80084 labour-claims line. The process is set by the UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, as amended):

  1. MOHRE registers your complaint and tries to reach an amicable settlement between you and the employer.
  2. If there is no settlement within 14 days, MOHRE issues a final, binding decision where the claim is under AED 50,000 – or refers larger disputes to the labour court with a summary of the case.
  3. If your case is referred to court, you must register it with the competent labour court within 14 days.

Workers (and their heirs) are exempt from court fees on claims under AED 100,000. Filing the complaint and checking its status cost nothing.

MOHRE or ICP/GDRFA? Where to go for what

This trips up a lot of people. The two systems are separate:

  • MOHRE – your job: work permit (labour card), employment contract, wages and labour complaints, for the private sector.
  • ICP (federal) and GDRFA (Dubai) – your visa and residency: entry permit, residence visa, Emirates ID and status. To check those, use our UAE visa status check and Emirates ID status guides.

One consequence worth knowing: MOHRE does not run a standalone “labour ban check” tool. A ban or an absconding case usually shows up inside your transaction or application status, or you can confirm it by calling 600 590 000.

Five mistakes to avoid

  1. Signing before you check the MOHRE offer. The contract MOHRE holds is the binding one – verify the salary and title there first.
  2. Calling MOHRE about a visa problem. Visas are ICP/GDRFA; MOHRE cannot help with residence status.
  3. Using an unofficial “ban checker” site. There is no public MOHRE ban-check service; check your transaction status or call the Ministry.
  4. Paying a middleman for a free service. Enquiries and complaint filing are free on MOHRE’s own channels.
  5. Missing the complaint window. If your case is referred to court, register it within 14 days or you may lose the referral.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOHRE enquiry service?

It is a set of free online services from the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation that let workers and employers check labour information without visiting an office. Through the MOHRE enquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae or the MOHRE app you can check a job offer or labour contract, a work permit, the status of any transaction, a company's registration, unpaid fees, and the status of a labour complaint.

How do I check my labour contract or job offer with MOHRE?

Use MOHRE's Offer Inquiry at receipts.mohre.gov.ae/OfferInquiry or the MOHRE app. Choose your offer type, then search either by your transaction number plus passport number and nationality, or by your Emirates ID data and nationality. MOHRE shows the job title, salary and contract duration it holds on record - always check this matches what you agreed before you sign or travel.

What is the MOHRE call centre number?

The MOHRE call centre is 600 590 000, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with multilingual support. The same number works on WhatsApp - just save it and type 'hi' to start the chatbot and check your status. For labour claims specifically there is a toll-free advisory line, 80084, and you can email ask@mohre.gov.ae.

How can I check my work permit or labour card status?

Open the MOHRE enquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae and use the electronic work permit service, or track the underlying application through the transactions inquiry service. You will usually need your work permit number and transaction number. The MOHRE app shows the same information once you sign in with your Emirates ID or UAE Pass.

Is there a fee to use MOHRE enquiry services?

No. Checking your transaction status, your contract, your work permit and your complaint status through MOHRE's own website, app, call centre or WhatsApp is free. Filing a labour complaint is also free. Be wary of any third-party site that charges you for what MOHRE provides at no cost. Separate government transactions, such as issuing or renewing a permit, do carry their own official fees.

How do I file a labour complaint with MOHRE?

File through the MOHRE website, the app, or the 80084 labour-claims line. MOHRE registers the complaint and tries to settle it amicably. Under the UAE Labour Law, if there is no settlement within 14 days, MOHRE issues a binding decision on claims under AED 50,000 or refers larger disputes to the labour court. Workers are exempt from court fees on claims under AED 100,000, and the whole process is free to start.

What is the difference between MOHRE and ICP or GDRFA?

MOHRE handles your job in the private sector - your work permit (labour card), employment contract, wages and labour disputes. ICP (the federal authority) and GDRFA (in Dubai) handle your visa and residency - entry permits, residence visas, Emirates ID and immigration status. If your question is about a residence visa or Emirates ID, you need ICP or GDRFA, not MOHRE.

Can I check a labour ban on MOHRE?

MOHRE does not publish a standalone 'labour ban check' tool. If a ban or an absconding case exists, it typically shows up inside your transaction or application status on the MOHRE enquiry portal, or you can confirm your position by calling the MOHRE call centre on 600 590 000. Avoid unofficial 'ban checker' websites, which are not connected to the Ministry.
